Abigail Brewer

I have been a practicing artist for as long as I can remember and have found my creative pursuits to be a personal form of therapy. Through my graduation from Herron School of Art + Design in Indianapolis, Indiana, my work focused on portraying my traumatic life experiences through surreal expressive self-portraits. While these artisitc processes undoubtedly brought forth closure and some of my best pieces, it also brought exhaustion. At this point, I turned to my favorite interest - tornadoes.

Painting tornadoes was the natural subject choice for my relaxed creative time. I have been enthralled by tornadoes from early childhood; I gain so much energy whenever a thunderstorm is rolling through. I grew up with the classic Midwestern experience of sitting on your porch watching the thunder and lightning strike, even (and especially) if there is a tornado warning. As I built up my portfolio and online presence, I discovered that there are plenty of other folks like me that have such a strong passion for this weather event.

I have enjoyed so much learning about niche events and hearing personal encounters from my customers, followed by painting my depiction of their favorite twisters. I am so excited to continue diving into this community, and I am so proud of the work that I do. Thank you so much for your interest.
